Why We Built This Site
Kansas permits public access to many court dockets and files, but access starts with the correct custodian. Bernie Lumbreras, Clerk of the District Court, oversees the office that keeps Sedgwick County District Court records. Municipal clerks keep city ordinance matters, and federal clerks maintain the Wichita federal dockets. Kansas CaseSearch provides an online index for permitted state case information. We organize verified contacts, portal fields, calendar routes, case-number patterns, and record-request steps while preserving the important boundary between each office.
What You Will Find Here
- Calendar help: ways to read the court schedule and verify a Sedgwick hearing
- Docket detail: how criminal dockets and civil dockets differ
- Case lookup: how Kansas CaseSearch accepts names, numbers, businesses, citations, and filters
- Record access: how plain and certified court documents are requested from the District Court Records Department
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no affiliation to any Kansas court, clerk, city, county office, or state agency. Those boundaries limit what we can provide:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
An official or certified docket sheet must come from the clerk or court that holds the original record. This resource can identify the office, but cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Their services, prices, data practices, and results are outside our control. A completed paid signup may generate a referral fee that supports operation of this resource. Always use the official court or clerk when a current docket entry, hearing, or certified copy must be confirmed.
